development of an independent Black Power Economic reality?
(4) Do you think it is possible for an economy to revolve around
the health and well being of people?
Class #5: What Has To Be Managed? PEOPLE [Audio Version]
Economics is a science; an organized system of activities (some economic systems are more highly organized than others) as opposed to a random series of activities. This will be one of several classes that asks fundamental Economics questions, and answers those questions as simply as possible. The question for this class is, "What has to be managed?"
We Have To Manage Our Selves
On the personal and national/community
levels, there are several resources Black People have to manage.
These resources include, but are not necessarily limited to, the
following: People, Attitudes, Energy, Time, Skills, Wealth and
Money. In this class we will take a brief look at PEOPLE.
Black individuals are the most precious resource available to
the Black Community. It is Black individuals who must represent
and promulgate the new economic reality Black People seek. As
more Black individuals represent a Black Power Economic reality,
additional Black individuals will realize that it can grow and
be made functional, and join the effort-- and speed up the process
as a result.
Black individuals will provide the labor that fuels Black Power
Economics. Black individuals will produce and deliver the goods
and services that are critical to the evolution of Black Power
Economics and the elevation of the Black Community. Black individuals
will breed and nourish the Black Power Economic order. And Black
individuals will generate the ideas and applications that will
enhance Our Black Power Economic reality and accelerate its growth.
The Black Community, starting with Black individuals, has to develop
the fortitude to downgrade the practice of white power economics
and adopt the attitudes and commitment needed to make Black Power
Economics a real time reality. Black individuals are the key;
right now more than ever because Black individuals must carry
out the functions today that institutions will carry out once
We are further along. Until We have developed the proper institutions,
the destiny of the Black Nation lies in the minds, hearts, souls,
spirits, abilities and activities of Black individuals. Black
People are the key!.
We must always remember: People are more important than money.
People are more precious than money. People are more essential
than money. Therefore, people must be at the core of Black Power
Economics and every other aspect of Black Power. Our economy must
revolve around the health and well being of people, not the profiteering
activities of income statements, cash registers and bank accounts.
